Fitting Room Series: What skirt looks best on me?

We get alot of readers asking us what is the best skirt to wear for their body type.  Most of the country is now experiencing hot weather and a skirt keeps you cool!  This week we are focusing on the best skirts to wear if you are a Pear shape.  The trend in skirts right now have alot of tiers and pleats.  Pear shapes should stay away from pleated straight sacklike shapes.  It creates more volume at the hips.

The key to the pear shape is A-line, A-line, A-line.  Did we mention A-Line?  You want the skirt to flow away from the body.  A cinched waist or wide waistband creates a narrow focal point right at your waistline or midsection.   You can do the tier or ruffle trend but make sure it is an A-line silhouette and the waistband is wide and broad.  It will create that hourglass effect. Try to keep the skirt at knee length or above.  The longer the length past the knee, the more it will only bring emphasis to the pear shape.
